Welcome to Elm Class. I am Mrs Baddley the class teacher. I qualified as an Early Years teacher in 2012 and have taught across EYFS and KS1 since then, the majority of which at Highfield. I absolutely love being a Reception teacher, starting children’s love of learning and enriching their lives with experiences and books. I have a 4 year old son of my own at home, who keeps me very busy, as well as our two cats, Tina and Judy. Most Saturday mornings I can be found at a park run followed by a coffee. I am also part of a book club and love to read, when I get the chance. If I get some time to myself I love to have a mooch around some charity shops.
I am supported by a talented and nurturing team of Mrs Griffiths and Miss Giles. We are delighted to welcome you and your child to the start of an exciting journey with our school family.
We have created a nurturing, safe and communication friendly environment that allows your child to play, explore and grow. Each day brings new curiosity, creativity and early foundational skills. We value strong partnerships with families to support every step of your child’s development.
Throughout the year we’ll help your child to progress through the EYFS, focusing initially on the prime areas of learning which are: personal, social and emotional development, communication and language and physical development, before moving onto the specific areas of maths, literacy, understanding the world and expressive arts and design. Every half term we focus on a different topic which are: Marvellous Me, Into the Woods, Off We Go, Animal Kingdom and Summer Holidays. We are very lucky to provide the children with a mud kitchen session every Friday afternoon on the field. Our PE day is Thursday and the children can come into school wearing their kits on that day.
