Headteacher's Welcome
A very warm welcome to Highfield Community Primary School.
From the moment I first walked through the doors at Highfield, I knew instantly that this was a school I wanted to be part of. There is something very special about our school and I feel incredibly proud and privileged to be the Head.
At the heart of Highfield is a simple belief, everyone belongs. We are proud to be a diverse, caring and inclusive school where every child is known, valued and celebrated for who they are. Our specialist inclusion base, The Orchard, is an important part of our school community and reflects our commitment to inclusion and belonging.
Our mission is for every child to be inspired, believe in themselves and achieve their potential and their dreams. We are ambitious for every child and place great importance on wellbeing, confidence, character and sense of belonging, alongside academic development and success.
This begins from the very first day the children joins us. We recognise the vital importance of the Early Years in building strong foundations for future learning and development. From those earliest experiences onwards, we celebrate progress in all its forms. Every child’s journey is different and we know that small steps can lead to big achievements. Our dedicated staff, strong pastoral team and close community links help us ensure every child has the support, challenge and encouragement they need to thrive.
Our values of Courtesy, Kindness, Courage, Patience, Honesty and Empathy are woven through everything we do. They shape how we learn, how we treat one another and the people we aspire to become.
We are proud to give our children opportunities and experiences that broaden their horizons and help them discover who they are and what they can become. We develop the learning skills of curiosity, resilience, teamwork, self-reflection, problem solving and creativity, preparing our children not only for the next stage of their education, but for life.
We know that children achieve more when we work together. Our children, staff, parents and carers, governors, Trust team and wider community all have an important part to play in the Highfield journey. Everyone belongs, everyone matters and everyone has something special to contribute.
I hope our website gives you a real sense of who we are, what we believe in and the opportunities we provide for our children. However, there is no better way to understand Highfield than to come and experience our school for yourself.
